Patrons
were absolutely dazzled
by imaginative talent and creativity as the
Scene Makers showcased their literary and dramatic abilities
through the
Art
of Poetry!

Our delightful
junior troupe of Scene Makers enjoyed lots of fun
times at our Academy learning about the joys of
poetry. Mrs. Kahle taught them how to write
original sonnets, haikus, acrostic, concrete, rhyming,
and freestyle poems with a spring theme which they
presented at this community event with professionalism
and creativity. |
|
Oh, they
know they're poets, all right! Our students are
well trained, and this train's
bound for Hollywood! We didn't merely just recite
poems--there was a lot more to the show--but we
can't give everything away!
You'll have to watch our television show MAKING
A SCENE! Stay tuned! |

(A Personification Poem)
by
Scene Maker Yarizel
She rises in the morning...
She shares her light...
Giving warmth to my day...
Keeping cold blues away...

"Mother's Day"
(A
Nursery Rhyme)
by
Scene Maker Lee'na Rose
When the sun comes up in the
Morning...
And
the moon comes out at
Night...
Just
know that Mommy will be
Loving
you...
And
holding you,
Oh!
So tight!

“I
Believe I Can Fly”
(A Concrete Butterfly Poem)
by
Scene Maker Izamar
I believe I can fly!
I do! I do!
But the truth is, I can’t cause I’m
still in my shell.
I truly want to break out and yell:
I still believe!
Faith, hope, please don’t leave!
Let me out! I want to fly!
Something is happening!
My dream is coming true!
I’m out of my shell, soaring free!
I have wings!
Weeeeeee!
I can fly! I can fly!
I believe I can fly!

“Sweet
Honey Bee”
(A Free Verse)
by
Scene Maker Yarizel
Sweet, sweet, honey bee...
I see you buzzing all around:
Collecting honey,
Swooping down!
The wind—It brings along
Your sound…
Buzzz
Buzzz…
Oh, my sweet honey bee!
Will you bring some honey to me?

“In
My Garden”
(A Sonnet)
by
Scene Maker Izamar
I spy with my little eyes,
Lots of flowers and dragon flies!
A place where there is daily water,
So plants can grow and flies can flutter!
The flowers there are oh-so-colorful!
Everything there is much more wonderful!
There’s a lot of work to do,
Like water, fertilize, and planting too.
In French, it’s pronounced “Le Jardain.”
Did you know? You’re in my garden!

"The
Rain Goes Pitter Pat”
(A Sensory Poem)
by
Scene Maker Yarizel
The rain goes
Pitter-pat,
Pitter-pat,
Pitter-pat.
To believe it, you’d have to see it!
There’s nothing else like it in the
Whole
wide world!
The rain is cool and wet:
Its droplets are crystaline clear!
Without a scent, it’s so fresh and clean!
The rain goes
Pitter
pat,
Pitter
pat,
Pitter
pat.
The
rain pitter pats
On
you and me.

| Scene Maker Jasmine reads
unusually well for her age! She selected a poem
by A.A. Milne, Author of "Winnie the Pooh." |

Friendship is an added bonus
to being a Scene Maker. This picture says a thousand
words. |
“Under
the Rainbow”
(A free verse)
by Scene Maker Lexi
After a sunshower,
A rainbow explodes:
Red, yellow, pink,
green, orange, violet…
Those are the visible colors
We frolic beneath.
