Our
mission:
The Miss Sebastian Sweetheart Pageant is dedicated to
bringing communities together and encouraging their future
leaders. Each year, the pageant awards cash, scholarships
and prizes to recognize and assist the development of
young, talented women within our neighboring communities.
Explore your potential:
The Miss Sebastian Sweetheart title opens doors during
the year of the queen's reign. As the pageant winner,
the queen will represent the title for the coming year
and will return to next year’s pageant, to crown
her successor.
Smart Talent Pageant Staff will be working all year long
with the winners, scheduling appearances with local civic
groups, organizations, and businesses. They may take a
day to visit local mayors and council members, make an
appearance with local sports teams, and participate in
parades and community events in both neighboring counties…These
are just some of the opportunities the queen will have
while she is Miss Sebastian Sweetheart!
First Place Winner Will Receive:
A cash prize of $1,000, crown, ribbon, and roses along
with various prizes donated by area businesses and a Scholarship
at Melann Kahle’s Smart Talent Academy of Performing
Arts redeemable during the Queen’s reign.
Runners-Up:
The three runners-up to the Queen's title will each receive
a rose, placement ribbon, and various prizes donated by
area businesses and scholarships at Smart Talent during
their year of reign: First Runner Up: 18 weeks of class
instruction; Second Runner Up: 12 weeks of class instruction;
Third Runner Up: 6 weeks of class instruction.
Everybody Wins:
This is an opportunity of a lifetime. Besides the possibilities
of winning prizes, cash, Smart Talent Scholarships, and
community recognition, are the self-confidence and experience
the contestants gain from the Smart Talent Pageant Workshop
and from interviewing and appearing on stage at this glamorous
event. Every contestant will be recognized on stage with
the official pageant ribbon during the event to honor
your participation.
Scoring:
Contestants are scored 20% on your Personal Introduction,
40% on Formal Wear Poise and Appearance, 40% on Communications
Skills in a Question/Answer Competition. Independent judges
who are leaders in our community will be scoring the event.
The Categories for Judging are as follows:
Personal Introduction
The judges will be looking for a sparkling, winning attitude,
clear speech, and warm, glowing personality to embody
the title of Miss Sebastian Sweetheart!
Formal Wear Poise and Appearance:
The formal wear category will showcase the contestants'
poise and appearance in an individual and group segment.
Modesty
is imperative for all age groups. It should be noted that
this pageant, while a glamorous event, does not focus
exclusively on physical appearance. Good communication
and presentation skills are recognized and encouraged.
Braces, glasses, skin problems, varying heights, etc.,
are irrelevant and are a normal part of growing up. The
judges are instructed to score in this manner.
The
Question/Interview:
The questions shall consist solely of topics such as family,
education, hobbies, community involvement, etc. In addition,
contestants may be asked pageant related questions such
as: What do you hope to gain from your participation in
this pageant? Communication skills will be assessed in
this category. Assessment will take into consideration
the participant’s age category and corresponding
language development.
Guest Tickets:
Ticket sales are a fundraiser for the Brain Injury
Association of Florida.
We raised $910.
Thank you for your support of this wonderful organization!
